Aaron completes the London Marathon 2025
Our absolute legend, Aaron, laced up his trainers and took on the beast that is the London Marathon today – and he absolutely crushed it!
But this wasn’t just about personal glory; Aaron was pounding the pavements for an incredibly important cause close to home: the Cavernoma Society.
For those not in the know, the Cavernoma Society does amazing work supporting people and families dealing with cerebral cavernous malformations, those tricky clusters of wonky blood vessels in the brain and spinal cord. It’s a condition that can throw a real curveball into people’s lives, and the Society is a lifeline for so many.
So, there was Aaron, right there in the thick of it with thousands of other runners, all buzzing with that pre-race energy. The atmosphere in London was electric, with crowds packed along every inch of the course, waving banners, banging pots and pans, and generally making a glorious racket. You could feel the support radiating off them, and we bet Aaron soaked up every single cheer.
The first few miles probably felt like a breeze, fueled by adrenaline and the sheer excitement of it all. Running past all those iconic London landmarks – Big Ben, the Tower Bridge, you name it – must have been pretty surreal. But let’s be real, a marathon isn’t a walk in the park. As the miles started to stack up, the legs probably started to feel like lead, and those little niggles and aches probably made their unwelcome appearance.
But Aaron isn’t one to back down from a challenge. We heard he dug deep, kept his focus, and just kept putting one foot in front of the other. Knowing he was running for the Cavernoma Society, for all the families they support right here in Sutton and across the UK, must have given him that extra push. Every step was a step closer to raising awareness and much-needed funds for this fantastic charity.
The crowds were absolutely incredible, shouting encouragement, offering high-fives, and even handing out the occasional jelly baby (a runner’s best friend!). It’s that kind of camaraderie and support that makes the London Marathon so special, and we’re sure Aaron felt every bit of it.
Then, finally, after what must have felt like an eternity, that glorious sight – the finish line! We can only imagine the wave of relief and pure elation that washed over Aaron as he crossed it. All those months of early morning training runs, the sacrifices, the sheer hard work – it all paid off in that one incredible moment.
And the best part? He didn’t just conquer the 26.2 miles for himself. He did it for the Cavernoma Society, shining a spotlight on their vital work and hopefully inspiring a few more people to lend their support.
So, a massive, heartfelt congratulations to Aaron from everyone here in Sutton! You’re an absolute inspiration, not just for taking on such a monumental physical challenge, but for using your incredible effort to make a real difference to a charity that means so much to our community. We’re all incredibly proud of you – go put your feet up, you’ve earned it! What a legend!
